Main Duties: Maintain up to date list of Walkers and Deliverers, and numbers of papers required. Attend the delivery of the papers each month at The Basin Community Hall, Prepare distribution lists for Drivers Liaise with Walkers and arrange coverage for those absent. Report to monthly Committee Meeting.
We are seeking volunteers to assist the Community Garden Lead Volunteer with general watering, weeding, planting, maintenance etc. The Community Garden is an edible garden which provides seasonal produce for the community. This role involves light, physical activity. This position would also suit anyone needing to complete their 15 hours for Centrelink or who enjoys being outside and has a green thumb.
Sorting processing and shelf filling, as well as shop front and register duties. We try to match volunteers to positions where they enjoy what they are doing.
Some of our guests at our respite home who are living with Dementia also love being in the garden. Whether it is walking around to smell the roses or tending to the plants, they would love to spend time with another garden enthusiast. Availability is 2 – 3 spare hours once a week, flexible mornings or afternoons between Wednesday to Friday would really enhance the experience of those in our care.
If you enjoy the company of older people, have time to commit to at least one visit a fortnight, are a good communicator and feel this experience will enrich lives then please consider this incredibly rewarding position. Training is provided.
