Meals on Wheels is a not-for-profit, community-based volunteer organisation working throughout South Australia. Since 1954, we have assisted many people in the community to live independently in their own homes by providing meals for up to 7 days. We are recruiting an Assistant Volunteer Coordinator at our Happy Valley Branch to help provide this much needed community service.
Hackham West Community Centre is an inclusive Community Centre offering a diverse range of programs & services which provide opportunities for the local community to be empowered through personal growth, learning and connections. As a fundraising committee volunteer, your role will be to organise fundraising initiatives to bring in extra funds to support the Centre in its efforts to provide a large range of programs to the young, elderly and vulnerable members of our Community.
The Centre's Op Shop is open from 9:30am - 2:30 pm on weekdays during the school term & is staffed by volunteers. We are looking for volunteers to assist in various duties such as: - sorting, pricing and displaying of donated items - greeting customers and serving in a friendly, helpful manner - maintaining a neat & tidy store - cash handling
The Centre's coffee shop is open from 9:30 am - 2:30 pm on weekdays during the school term, and our mobile Coffee Cart is used for special events and programs. Both are staffed by dedicated volunteers. We are looking for volunteers to assist in providing customers, volunteers and staff with hot drinks.
Playgroup & Creche volunteers will work alongside staff in the Under 5s Team & will assist in the set up and pack up of Under 5 Programs, engaging with the children and families within the programs, and assisting in the admin and planning of future sessions.
Hackham West Community Centre runs an Adult Education group on Wednesday mornings. This position is a great opportunity for anyone with previous experience as a tutor to help students improve their numeracy, literacy and English language skills. Tutoring is done one-on-one and the volunteer must be a good listener, patient and caring.

Volunteers are needed to assist with our horse riding programme. If you like horses and are keen to help disabled people enjoy the thrill of riding a horse then this role is for you! Sing for Joy Choir is an ACH Group Social Links Program that provides weekly choir sessions for Customers to meet, sing, enjoy, & connect through music. The choir is led by an experienced, professional choir director, and members of the choir enjoy regular performances on stages big and small, including the Adelaide Fringe Festival. Would you like to help by supporting with the set up and pack down of each session, welcoming Customers, helping with song sheets, recording attendance?
Puddle Jumpers is a children's charity that provides emergency food assistance to around 1000 households a week at 7 different locations. Our Food Drives down South occurs on Friday evenings at Hackham & Christie Downs. We would love more hands to help down south.
