Handy people and garden enthusiast are required to join our Home Maintenance Team of volunteers who help our older residents in the City of Holdfast Bay region stay independent in their homes longer.

You will work closely with the team staff assisting with tasks including cleaning gutters, changing light globes and smoke alarm batteries, pruning and low level safety pruning, installing rails, replacing tap washers and basic home repairs.

We are looking for people who are semi-retired, retired or simply looking to expand their experience, knowledge and skills in a role that gives back to the community.

~ General handy-maintenance or pruning experience would be advantageous but not necessary ~ Understanding of the needs of older people, people with disabilities and their carers an advantage ~ A suitable level of physical fitness to undertake duties associated with the role (manual handling component) ~ Ability to take direction and instruction, and to work as part of a team ~ Good communication skills and a positive friendly attitude ~ Reliable, honest, responsible, caring & committed
