Volunteer with your pet at Braeside Hospital so our patients can pat and enjoy the pet. You'll enjoy this opportunity to spend time with people and chat.

HammondCare is an independent Christian charity, specialising in dementia, palliative care, rehabilitation and older persons' mental health. We are passionate about improving the quality of life for people in need and we have a wonderful group of volunteers that partner with us to enhance the lives of our patients.

As you're bringing your pet into an care environment with frail and elderly residents or patients, we ask that your pet is

• Calm and gentle in nature
• Up-to-date with vaccinations and treatment of worms and fleas
• Nails should be short and blunt. Freshly cuts nails can be sharp if not filed down.
• Dogs should be kept on a lead at all times.

Ideally you’ll be available one hour a week or fortnightly for a period of 12 months or longer.

Your impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
