Resident Social Support Visitor Allambi Glengowrie

We are seeking a volunteer to join our visiting team.

The aims of the visits are:

To foster friendships, establish rapport and reduce isolation
To maintain social skills and share information and knowledge
To provide companionship and support
To maintain contact with previous communities of significance

You can bring your own interests and skills into this role and we will aim to match you with residents who have the same interests. Visiting a resident could involve – chatting, playing a board game or the wii, reading, sitting in the garden, craft etc.

Training

Orientation and training provided

Time required

1-2 times per week but the days and times can be negotiated on commencement. *Best practice volunteer involvement recommends that a volunteer role should not be more than 15-16 hours per week.

Reimbursement

Approved out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed
