Volunteer to take internet grocery shopping lists by phone

Lower North Shore Community Volunteers

Willoughby Community Aid provides a shopping service to assist clients to remain independent in their own homes. This ranges from accompanied shopping to bus trip shopping to internet shopping.

You need to have good communication skills, good command of the English language and hand writing skills, a knowledge of everyday food items, patience and empathy for the elderly. Willingness to attend training is important.

Monday mornings from 9am to 11am approx. (fortnightly) Tasks are: to phone clients, write down their shopping orders, recording product, brand name, size and quality. Prompting clients for any details to minimize wrong items being delivered. And to confirm delivery date and time.

You get training, welcome and supportive environment, practice and "feel good" that you have contributed to your community. Any training and appreciation events for volunteers you will be invited to and will give you opportunities to connect to a large volunteer "family".
