Community Visitors Scheme (CVS) coordinates a service where Volunteer Visitors visit isolated Elderly either at the recipient's home or residential aged care on a fortnightly basis for 2 hours.

Visits may include conversation, listening to music, reading or other activities depending on the capacity of the elderly. The Volunteer Visitor role does not include nursing or homecare tasks and is purely concentrated on providing companionship and friendship.

In order to be eligible for the CVS program, potential Volunteer Visitors must agree to: • participating in an induction program • undergoing a Police Check, • Submit the COVID-19 vaccination booster evidence • providing a minimum commitment to the CVS program of 6 months. Successful Volunteer Visitors are provided with ongoing training and support by the Community Visitors Scheme Coordinator and a certificate of recognition from the Sydney MCS.
