The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this role on behalf of City of Boroondara - Libraries.

If you have a teaching qualification in any subject and/or teaching experience (or you are currently undertaking studies in this area) and want to use your skills to assist adults practice their English skills, we would love to hear from you.

About the program: English Conversation Club is an hour-long weekly conversation class for adults who speak English as a second language. The club plans to meet between 2 -3 pm at all 5 Boroondara Library branches (Ashburton, Balwyn, Camberwell, Hawthorn, Kew). The program provides adults with an opportunity to practice speaking English in an informal and friendly group setting with the help of a qualified tutor/teacher.

Your role: We need 6-8 English Conversation Club tutors to share the roles at our Libraries. Tutors must have an understanding of cultural diversity, a teaching qualification in any subject and/or teaching experience, or be currently undertaking studies in this area

Volunteers who are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, other First Nations, culturally or linguistically diverse, LGBTQIA+ or members of the disability or deaf community are encouraged to apply.
