Toy Library Help on Saturday 9.30-12
Collingwood Toy Library
The Toy Library needs someone to volunteer on a Saturday morning. The job is helping to sort, check and count toys and put them away on their shelves. There is also some carrying of things to cars as needed by the members who borrow toys. The applicant needs to be physically able, they need to have good concentration and attention to detail. We need someone who is available every Saturday. We are a child safe organisation and have procedures in place to keep children safe. The Collingwood Toy Library is a not for profit, volunteer-run organisation that assists families by providing children with a changing selection of toys, puzzles and games for a minimal cost. It currently services approximately 700 families in the area and is a vital part of the local community. The Toy Library offers social, cognitive and motor development for young children of all abilities. With our stock of over 5500 toys, puzzles and games we encourage families with young children to enjoy quality time, while reducing their environmental impact. The service also provides an informal meeting place for parents and children, fostering local friendships and combating social isolation. We need someone to come on a regular basis to check and count the toys to ensure they are ready to be borrowed by our member families. The job also requires some cleaning of toys and carrying toys to member's cars.
