Join our team at Birthline and become a volunteer telephone counsellor.

A 10-week training course is run FREE of charge (2nd May – 4th July 2023) on Tuesday evenings from 7.00pm-9.00pm at Kensington Gardens, SA.

The Telephone Counselling Course includes theory sessions on basic telephone counselling, physiology, fertility, contraception, abortion, post abortion grief and loss, history and philosophy of Birthline.

It is also expected that the participant will complete 9 hours of practical sessions in the office as part of the training. These sessions may be broken down into 3 x 3 hour sessions.

There are a number of expert guest speakers, imparting information and experience in their fields. We also have very friendly and supportive volunteers who are willing to share their experience, and help you feel comfortable starting out, especially if you are new to counselling.

Our Telephone Counselling Course (TCC) is only held once a year. If you are interested please contact us as soon as possible to ensure you do not miss out.

Birthline provides 24 hour telephone counselling support for pregnant women, their partners and their families when they are experiencing distress, hardship or have questions relating to pregnancy or pregnancy loss.
