You will be working in a friendly, collaborative atmosphere with other museum volunteers. Your responsibilities will include greeting visitors and taking admission fees, shop sales, routine administrative tasks such as taking bookings and messages, and assisting with start/end-of-day procedures. You will also have the opportunity to learn in other areas of the museum.

We are looking for people who can commit to a minimum of 4 regular hours per week, but preferably 7 hours per week. The museum is currently opened on Tuesdays, Thursdays and weekends from 10am to 4pm. We aim to eventually open 7 days per week.

The museum attracts all types of visitors from all over the world. We aim to make every visit as enjoyable as possible. We take pride in our service, and are looking for volunteers who are friendly, courteous, and willing to go the extra mile. Reliability and good customer service are essential for this role.

We will provide training in visitor orientation, LSAFM procedures and use of cash register and eftpos machine. This position is usually shared by two volunteers each shift - you might like to volunteer with a friend.

A microwave oven, fridge, air fryer, toaster and toasted sandwich maker are available for use in our volunteer's meal room. We supply tea/coffee and light snacks for volunteers.
