The Greenough Museum (formally the Greenough Pioneer Museum) is looking for volunteers to help take care of the museum gardens. The Museum is open daily from 8.30am to 3.00pm (except Mondays) and is located 19km south of Geraldton just off the Brand Highway on Phillips Road. It’s a great opportunity of meeting people and helping maintain our beautiful gardens. Plus we provide complimentary tea or coffee (and maybe a veggie or two from the garden).

The duties of volunteers can include one or a range of tasks, depending on your skills and what you can offer:

Plant and Maintain: Bring life to spaces by planting flowers, shrubs, and trees while ensuring their ongoing health and beauty.

Watering and Weeding: Provide essential care by watering and weeding to help green spaces thrive and flourish.

Seasonal Projects: Participate in exciting seasonal projects to add flair and charm to community spaces.

Mulching: Apply mulch to gardens to help retain moisture, suppress weeds, and regulate soil temperature.

Pruning: Trim and shape plants to promote healthy growth, enhance aesthetics, and manage overall garden appearance.

Lawn Care: If applicable, mow and care for lawns, ensuring a neat and well-maintained appearance.

Propagation: Propagate plants through methods like seed starting, cutting, or division to expand and diversify the garden.

Harvesting: If the garden includes edible plants, participate in harvesting fruits, vegetables, or herbs for community use.

Tool Maintenance: Keep gardening tools clean and in good condition for efficient use and longevity.
