Centre-based meals assistant

Hume City Council/Hume Volunteer Gateway

This weekly program brings together isolated members of the community to establish friendships and share in information to promote health and wellbeing. You will be assisting our staff with serving the meals in at our centre based programs and chatting with our clients enjoying lunch.

****Requirements:**** *Successful interview *Police Check is required (we cover the cost), *Good communications skills - proficiency in English language, bilingual desirable *Working with Children Check card with successfully organisation added to the card. (All volunteers must have a current Working with Children Check before commencing, applications are free of charge for volunteers. Obtaining a valid check is the responsibility of individuals, available via online.) *Physical ability to carry out tasks as listed in the position description. *An understanding of and an ability to communicate sensitively with older people and people with disabilities. *Desirable - Level 2 First Aid certificate. *Undertake basic administrative tasks as required. *Respect for culturally and ethnic diverse clients. *Actively listen and communicate openly with others. *Actively participate and contribute to the team
