An opportunity currently exists for suitable Foster Carers to join our permanent foster care program to look after pet rabbits in their homes. All equipment is provided by the orphanage if needed. All vet care is covered by the orphanage.

Primary Responsibility

Key Roles:

• Provide a safe and caring environment indoors for the pet rabbit
• Daily cleaning of litter and hay trays and the bunny area
• Feeding regime and routine welfare check
• Socialisation
• Carry out instruction from the orphanage in the care of the rabbit
• Vet visit when necessary.

Key Selection Criteria:

• Gentle caring nature and empathy with animals
• A keen interest and willingness to learn about rabbit health and well-being
• The rabbit must be housed indoors as a family pet
• Children under 8 yrs old must be supervised at all times
• No indoor dogs

PLEASE NOTE: A combination of dogs and young children under 8 years old has proved to be a fatal combination for rabbits. Please forward all applications via email or phone the Orphanage.
