MiCare is looking for volunteers that can share a smile and companionship during weekly friendly visits to isolated and lonely elderly people in Southport and the Northern Suburbs of the Gold Coast.

Visits may be spent talking or sharing in a simple leisure activity together. Your regular visits will make a positive difference in this person's life!

We ask volunteers to commit to weekly or fortnightly visits for at least 6 months, however this is an ongoing role and we hope to support your friendship for as long as possible.

Volunteers receive training, orientation, ongoing support, travel reimbursement and invitations to meetings together with other visiting volunteers.

This program is part of the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS) - an Australian Government initiative.
