Social Media (Volunteer Position)
Macedon Ranges Suicide Prevention Action Group (MRSPAG) is a community-led, not-for-profit organisation working to reduce suicide and improve emotional and psychosocial wellbeing across the Macedon Ranges. Grounded in lived experience and collaboration, we advocate, educate, and deliver local prevention initiatives that foster connection, resilience, and hope. We are seeking a Social Media Volunteer to support our work by helping us share clear, compassionate, and engaging messages with our community.

As a Social Media Volunteer, you will support MRSPAG by helping to:

Create and schedule social media content (Facebook, Instagram)

Assist with awareness campaigns for initiatives such as Safe Space, community events, and key dates (e.g. World Suicide Prevention Day, R U OK? Day)

Support basic graphic design using Canva (templates, flyers, digital tiles)

Help tell community stories in a respectful, trauma-informed way

Strengthen MRSPAG’s visibility and accessibility across the region This role plays a key part in helping community members know where support is available and how to access it.
Commitment Flexible: Approximately 2–5 hours per week Mostly remote, with occasional collaboration online Optional involvement in events or campaigns where available
We’re looking for someone who:

Has an interest in communications, social media, marketing, or design

Is comfortable using social media platforms and Canva (or keen to learn)

Communicates thoughtfully and understands the importance of sensitive messaging (with a willingness to undergo MindFrame training)

Aligns with MRSPAG’s values and community-led approach

Can work independently while collaborating with a small volunteer team Experience in mental health, community work, or lived-experience advocacy is welcome but not required.
