Volunteer Opportunity: Events Coordinator

About this opportunity IEF is seeking a passionate and organised volunteer Events Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you’ll play a central part in planning and delivering impactful events that strengthen community partnerships, engage volunteers, and support the growth of IEF initiatives. You’ll collaborate closely with the operations team to create memorable experiences that promote cultural engagement, education, and fundraising activities, making a real difference in the community.
Key Responsibilities
Support the development and delivery of IEF’s event growth strategy
Lead new initiatives, including IEF’s Container Deposit Scheme (CDS) fundraising stream
Manage volunteer outreach, coordination, and engagement
Build strong relationships with partners and community stakeholders
Oversee event logistics, scheduling, vendor coordination, and on-site delivery
Work with the Operations and Social Media teams on planning and event promotion
Ensure compliance, prepare documentation, and complete post-event evaluations
Who we’re looking for
We’re seeking someone who is:
Experienced in event planning, volunteer coordination, or community engagement (or studying in the field).
Organised, proactive, and self-motivated.
An excellent communicator and collaborative team player.
Passionate about Indigenous community engagement, cultural initiatives, and IEF’s mission.
Comfortable working independently, taking initiative, and bringing new ideas to the table.

Flexible volunteering – approximately 4 hours per week, with some additional hours required in the lead-up to and during events, depending on your availability.
