Volunteer Treasurer Project Hope Horse Welfare Victoria Inc.

Project Hope Horse Welfare Victoria Inc. is seeking a dedicated volunteer Treasurer to join our team and help safeguard the financial health of our organisation as we continue our vital work rescuing and rehabilitating horses in need. About the Role As our volunteer Treasurer, you'll play a crucial leadership role in managing the financial affairs of our organization. This is an unpaid position that offers the rewarding opportunity to use your financial skills to directly support equine welfare across Victoria. As Treasurer, you will be the financial backbone of our organisation, managing all aspects of our accounts, donations, and financial reporting and assist the membership secretary. This is a hands-on role that requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to transparent financial management for our charitable work. This position is part of the Executive Committee. Key Responsibilities • Maintain accurate financial records and oversee day-to-day bookkeeping • Prepare monthly financial reports for the committee • Manage accounts payable and receivable, including donations and grants • Coordinate the annual budget process and monitor expenditure against budget • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements for not-for-profit organizations • Ensuring data is up to date prior to BAS being finalised by the Accountant • Present financial reports at committee meetings and the Annual General Meeting What We're Looking For • A registered bookkeeper or accountant • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Proficiency with accounting software (Reckon experience preferred but not essential) • Understanding of not-for-profit financial governance (desirable) compliance to ACNC requirements • Commitment to animal welfare and our mission • Ability to volunteer approximately 2 to 6 hours per week What You'll Gain
