About the role We are seeking a Male Volunteer Facilitator to lead our weekly Men's Hour club, as part of our Online Clubs Program. The successful applicant would be responsible for facilitating weekly catch-ups for a small group of older male Australians where they can come together on a weekly basis and share experiences with each other, discuss a range of topics and from time to time have guest speakers on various topics in the community.
Sessions are held on Tuesdays 10am-11am (Qld time).
Our Online Clubs Program sparks joy and passion by helping older people engage in their favourite hobbies and activities in a virtual setting. This is facilitated through our Virtual Community Centre where participants can connect, learn, and enjoy.
As this is a virtual role, applicants can be based anywhere in Australia but must be able to facilitate in Queensland time zone.
What will you be doing in the role?
- You will create discussion topics and weekly content over an 11-week block. Staff can assist with content creation as needed.
- Facilitate weekly sessions for an hour, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to participate.

- Excellent communication skills - able to articulate well, heard and understood by those that may be hard of hearing
- Patient
- Ability to navigate difficult conversations
- Comfortable with technology
