About the role
We are seeking a Volunteer Facilitator to run our Virtual Field Trip club, as part of our Online Clubs Program. The successful applicant would be responsible showcasing a weekly destination to a small group of older Australians in an online setting, cultivating a curious, comfortable and friendly environment.
Sessions are held on Mondays 3pm-4pm (Qld time).
Our Online Clubs Program sparks joy and passion by helping older people engage in their favourite hobbies and activities in a virtual setting. This is facilitated through our Virtual Community Centre where participants can connect, learn, and enjoy.
As this is a virtual role, applicants can be based anywhere in Australia but must be able to facilitate in Queensland time zone.
What will you be doing in the role?
- Facilitate weekly sessions for an hour, ensuring everyone has an opportunity to participate.
- Use screen sharing to showcase the nominated destination for the week.
- Leading casual conversations on relevant talking points.
About you
- Excellent communication skills - able to articulate well, heard and understood by those that may be hard of hearing
- Patient
- Interested in exploring new places and leading discussions about them
- Ability to navigate difficult conversations
