About the Role

DART Institute Australia Inc. is committed to culturally safe, First Nations-led responses to family and domestic violence (FDV). We are seeking a respected First Nations leader from Western Australia with strong connections to philanthropic and corporate sectors to join our Board. Your role will be to strengthen relationships and partnerships that support our work grounded in Aboriginal knowledge, culture, and community healing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and nurture partnerships with philanthropic organisations and corporate bodies interested in First Nations-led social change.
  • Advise on culturally safe and community-led fundraising strategies aligned with DART’s values and First Nations priorities.
  • Support growth of sustainable funding streams to advance culturally informed FDV prevention and healing programs.
  • Advocate for DART’s work within First Nations, philanthropic, and corporate networks.
  • Collaborate with Board and Executive teams to embed cultural safety and community leadership in all funding and partnership activities.

Selection Criteria

  • First Nations person based in Western Australia with strong community connections.
  • Experience in philanthropy, corporate engagement, fundraising, or business development, preferably with a focus on Indigenous initiatives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to cultural safety, self-determination, and community-led approaches.
  • Proven ability to build trusting relationships across sectors.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent communication and advocacy skills.
  • Experience serving on boards or committees is desirable but not essential.
