About CARAD The Centre for Asylum Seekers, Refugees and Detainees (CARAD) is a Perth-based not-for-profit organisation providing essential support and advocacy for people from refugee and asylum-seeking backgrounds. We are a small but dedicated team driven by values of compassion, respect, and community. About the Role We’re looking for a creative and motivated volunteer to help us share CARAD’s story and connect with our community online. As our Marketing and Social Media Volunteer, you’ll help craft posts, stories, and campaigns that celebrate our clients, volunteers, and supporters, and raise awareness of the important work CARAD does. Key Duties
- Create engaging written and visual content for CARAD’s social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn).
- Support the development of social media campaigns, newsletters, and digital appeals.
- Source or take photos (with consent) to accompany stories and updates.
- Monitor engagement and suggest creative ideas to grow our online presence.
- Work collaboratively with the CARAD team to ensure messaging aligns with our values and mission.
Skills and Experience
- Experience or interest in marketing, communications, or social media management.
- Strong written communication skills with a warm, inclusive tone.
- Creativity and an eye for design (Canva or similar tools an advantage).
- Understanding of social justice or not-for-profit communication is desirable.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
