Child Safeguarding Officer

Organisation: Inspire Tomorrow Education INC (ITE) Location: Remote (Australia-wide) Commitment: 3–5 hours per week | Volunteer position Reports to: Chief Executive Officer and Education Operations Director

About the Role:
ITE is seeking a passionate, proactive and highly detail-oriented Child Safeguarding Officer to strengthen our commitment to child safety and wellbeing. This role ensures that all ITE programs and volunteers uphold the highest standards of child protection and ethical conduct, in line with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee implementation and compliance with ITE’s Child Safety and Safeguarding Policy.
- Manage volunteer screening processes, including Working With Children Checks (WWCC), and National Police Checks/reference verification where necessary.
- Maintain accurate safeguarding records and advise the team on risk management.
- Provide training, guidance, and support to volunteers and staff on safeguarding best practices.
- Respond to and manage any safeguarding concerns or incidents, ensuring appropriate reporting and follow-up procedures are met.
- Conduct periodic reviews of safeguarding frameworks to ensure continuous improvement.
About You:

Passionate about youth empowerment, education, and child safety.

Experience in child protection, education, risk management, or community safeguarding principles (experience in education, social work, or NFPs advantageous).

Excellent communication, discretion, and problem-solving skills.
