About Us The Australasian Metabolic Health Society (AMHS) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to improving metabolic health across Australia and New Zealand. We support health professionals and the public through education, advocacy, and evidence-based resources. Mission: Better metabolic health for all, no life should be lost to preventable disease.

The Opportunity AMHS is seeking passionate and experienced Non-Executive Board Directors to join our Board. This voluntary governance role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the strategic direction of a growing Society and ensure robust oversight in areas critical to our mission.

We are particularly seeking expertise in treasury, marketing & communications, business development, fundraising, or membership growth to strengthen the Board’s capacity in:

Governance and compliance with ACNC and charity regulations Strategic business development Fundraising and philanthropy networks Treasury

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the strategic direction and governance of the Society

Provide specialist insight in your area of expertise to guide Board decision-making

Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and best practice standards, related to your are of expertise

Act as an ambassador for AMHS, promoting our mission and values

Attend Board meetings (approximately 8 per year, online) and participate in monthly subcommittee meetings

About You We are looking for someone who:

Brings a passion for our mission and relevant professional experience

Can commit at least 2–4 hours per week to Board and subcommittee responsibilities

Demonstrates strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a governance team

Has a genuine commitment to improving health outcomes across the region
