Chameleon House is a respected non-profit organisation that has been operating for over 36 years, providing safe and supported accommodation for young people aged 16–25 who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Our dedicated team works to empower young people with the skills, confidence, and stability needed to live independently — and we need a skilled Treasurer to help sustain this vital work.
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience in finance, accounting, or business management (CPA or CA preferred but not essential)
Understands governance, risk, and compliance in the not-for-profit or community services sector
Can interpret financial reports and communicate insights clearly to fellow board members
Is committed to ethical leadership and youth-focused social impact
Is eligible for a Working with Children Blue Card
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee financial reporting, budgeting, and cash flow management
Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of annual audits
Ensure compliance with ACNC, ATO, and funding body requirements
Advise on financial strategy, sustainability, and risk mitigation
Support the development of budgets, financial reports, and forecasts
Present regular financial updates to the Board.
Work collaboratively with the Manager to monitor funding and financial performance
Contribute to strategic planning and governance discussions
Skills and Experience:
Strong background in finance, accounting, or business management
Experience in budgeting, reporting, and compliance
Understanding of community or non-profit governance (preferred)
Strategic thinker with strong attention to detail and communication skills
Passion for supporting young people and strengthening community impact
