Secretary to the Board of Governance

Connections Inc. is seeking a new Secretary for its Board of Governance. This is a rewarding opportunity to join the governance body of a community organisation based in the Caboolture region. Connections Inc. is a not-for-profit community service organisation that provides individual support, support coordination, and allied health services for people living with disability or mental health needs. Connections mission is to create a better life for people living with disability by offering a variety of services that support people to make fulfilling lifestyle choices. Community members with secretarial or administration skills are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities of the role of Secretary include: • Ensuring all correspondence and official records of the association (other than financial records) are up to date, accurate and in order and available to be looked at by those authorised to do so • Assisting the Chair and CEO to organise Board meetings • Ensuring that meeting papers (agenda, relevant documents and previous minutes) have been distributed • Ensuring the minutes of the meeting are taken • Working with the Chair and General Manager to ensure all correspondence that relates to the Board is dealt with in a timely manner • Knowing the rules of the organisation and taking responsibility for the legal requirements of an incorporated association.
