Empower Kids Through STEM | Robotics Volunteer | Sydney Inner West

Help inspire the next generation of STEM thinkers!
We are seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join our Robots in Residence program - a hands-on program designed to inspire primary school students in STEM learning. Volunteers work alongside a Good Shepherd facilitator to deliver weekly one-hour sessions to students over a 6-week period.
Each session involves guiding students through design and coding challenges using curated robotics kits. Volunteers help students think critically, solve problems, and build confidence in their abilities.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. You don’t need to be a tech expert, just bring:
- A genuine interest in supporting children’s learning and development
- Enthusiasm for STEM and hands-on activities
- Reliable and enjoy working in a team
Experience in education, youth work, or STEM is helpful but not required. Training and support will be provided.
Benefits of Volunteering
- Make a meaningful impact in your community
- Gain experience in education and STEM engagement
- Connect with a supportive team and other volunteers
Your Impact
As a volunteer, you’ll be helping young students discover the excitement and possibilities of STEM. Many of these students may be exploring robotics and coding for the first time, and your support can spark a lifelong interest in learning, innovation, and future career pathways. Your presence shows them that their ideas matter, their potential is real, and their future is worth investing in.
