Corporate Fundraising Research Assistant — Volunteer

Key Duties & Responsibilities Conduct targeted research on corporate partners, philanthropic foundations, and CSR initiatives in Australia and globally.

Identify companies, foundations, and individuals with a potential alignment to SeeBeyondBorders’ mission or a focus on education, Cambodia, or matched funding opportunities.

Use AI research tools, online platforms, and prospecting databases to source, analyse, and profile potential funders.

Find and document key decision-makers within companies and organisations, securing accurate contact details via LinkedIn, company websites, directories, and outreach.

Record and maintain research findings and leads in SeeBeyondBorders' Salesforce CRM and Google Sheets.

Provide clear, actionable insights and recommendations to support fundraising and partnership development.

Attend a monthly in-person team day (4 hours on a Tuesday) in Mosman to collaborate, share research findings, and contribute to planning discussions.

Skills & Experience Needed Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Drive).

Familiarity with CRM systems — Salesforce experience highly regarded.

Interest in or willingness to learn AI-assisted research methods (training provided).

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong attention to detail, data accuracy, and information management.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a small, purpose-driven team.

Organised, reliable, with good time management skills.

Organisational Background SeeBeyondBorders is an Australian-registered, DFAT-accredited charity working to improve education in Cambodia by empowering teachers. We specialise in peer-to-peer teacher training and educational mentoring, creating sustainable change for children in Cambodia’s schools. Our approach, recognised by UNESCO, is based on partnerships, evidence, and the belief that education is a basic human right. We have trained over 700 teachers, impacted 250 schools, and reached approximately 30,000 children since our inception.
