Foster Carers for rescue greyhounds

If you've ever wanted to have a loving canine companion, but you're unsure about the long term commitment, fostering might be for you! We are looking for loving homes to place rescue greyhounds, to ease them into full time pet life! We have many cute snoots waiting to be given a second chance at life.
What is your role?
You will be matched with a beautiful affectionate greyhound, who will share your home and become a part of your family until a forever family adopts him/her. This could be for a few weeks or months. In this time, you will help the greyhound get used to life as a pet (there are many everyday experiences with which they may be unfamiliar and will need to 'learn the ropes').
No experience is necessary, as you will be given all the help and support you need. Our aim is to prepare the greyhound for success in his or her future home, and that means being available to assist you in any way, during this foster period.
One of our members will first do a housecheck to ensure your home is greyhound friendly (many cannot walk up or down stairs for example) and we will meet with you to answer any questions you may have. Because many greyhounds are timid when first rescued, we do not place greyhounds in households with very young children.
You may need to lift a greyhound at times. Other dogs in the home are acceptable (on a case by case basis)
What will you gain?
A sense of Community: Build connections within a caring and supportive group The chance to meet new people: Socialise with a great group! Physical health benefits: We are always up for a walk! A great excuse to get off the couch. The health benefits of walking are endless. Walking is one of the most powerful ways to maintain a healthy weight, keep your joints strong and live longer
FUN!: These hounds are a bundle of fun and joy
Most importantly, you will be saving the life of a greyhound!
