πŸ” About the Role We are seeking a motivated and community-minded individual to join our club as a Governance Adviser & Meeting Facilitator. This important volunteer role supports our Management Committee in delivering transparent, inclusive, and effective governance while ensuring that meetings are run professionally and in accordance with our constitution and relevant legal frameworks.

The role is ideal for someone with experience or interest in governance, community leadership, administration, or law β€” and a desire to make a meaningful difference in how local sport is managed.

πŸ† Key Responsibilities Governance Adviser:

Provide advice on good governance practices, risk management, and member rights

Ensure compliance with the Associations Incorporation Act (WA) and club constitution

Help review or update club policies, procedures, and role clarity

Guide the committee on conflict-of-interest matters and decision-making transparency

Encourage the use of recognised frameworks (e.g. Club Changer, Every Club Hub)

Meeting Facilitator:

Assist in preparing agendas in collaboration with the President and Secretary

Ensure meetings (committee, AGM, special) are well-run, respectful, and constructive

Support the Chair in keeping discussions on topic and time-bound

Encourage participation and fairness in decision-making processes

πŸ™Œ What We’re Looking For Knowledge or willingness to learn about not-for-profit governance

Confident communicator with facilitation or leadership skills

Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

Professionalism, neutrality, and ability to work collaboratively

Previous board/committee experience (desirable but not essential)
