*Influential Board Position* - Treasurer, Committee of Management (Volunteer position)

Key Responsibilities: • Provide financial oversight and advice to the Committee of Management • Review and present monthly financial statements, budgets, and forecasts • Support the preparation and monitoring of the annual budget • Oversee annual audit processes and ensure compliance with ACNC and ATO requirements • Ensure proper financial systems, controls, and reporting mechanisms are in place • Endorse financial policies and provide input on funding decisions • Act as a trusted advisor to the General Manager on financial matters • Liaise with external accountants or auditors as needed

Key Relationships: • General Manager • AWVRB Bookkeeper • Committee of Management members • External auditor and accounting service providers


Desirable Skills and Experience: • Financial management experience (e.g. accountant, bookkeeper, or finance officer) • Understanding of financial reporting and budgeting for not-for-profits • Familiarity with MYOB or similar accounting software (advantageous) • Commitment to good governance and ethical leadership • Previous experience on a board or committee (not essential)
