Job Title: Volunteer Coordinator (Volunteer Position)

Organization: Dogs Canberra Limited

Location: Remote and On-Site (In Canberra)

Duration: 6-12 months (with potential for extension)

About Us: Dogs Canberra Limited (DogsCBR) is a newly established not-for-profit organization committed to enriching public mental health and community wellbeing through dog-centred services. Our mission is to enrich lives through establishing compassionate connections to dogs. We're launching our Dogs Make a Difference Foster Program and we warmly invite you to submit your application.

About You: We're seeking individuals who are not only passionate about dogs and their community but also dedicated to enhancing mental health awareness and support. While a background in volunteer management and operations is preferred, what matters most is your eagerness to learn and contribute to our cause. If you're ready to make a tangible difference in both the lives of dogs and the mental well-being of our community, we want you on our team.

Responsibilities (full Position Description available on request):

  • Community Member (Volunteer) Management.
  • Walking Program Coordination and Oversight.
  • Foster Carer & Dog Liaison.
  • Feedback, Reporting & Incident Management.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for dogs and commitment to improving the community.
  • Willingness to learn and develop, as an integral part of a new charity.
  • Experience in grant writing, fundraising, or nonprofit finance is highly desirable.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Willingness to commit to a volunteer position for a minimum of 6 months.
