Who are we?

Ronald McDonald House Charities is one of the leading Global and Australian children’s charities supporting the ever-changing needs of seriously ill children and their families. In-line with our mission, Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney (RMHC GWS) has dedicated more than 43 years to keeping families closer to their child with a serious illness who require treatment and support.

We are committed to keeping children and young people safe in our spaces and do not tolerate any kind of abuse. We implement prevention strategies to reduce the risk of abuse and actively seek to listen, empower, and protect children. Our team, including employees and volunteers, must meet high standards to ensure they prevent and report abuse. All roles are subject to compliance and reference checks and are subject to relevant state/territory legislation.

As a House Hero Volunteer in the Family Room, you'll have the opportunity to be the shining light for the families.

What we're looking for is people who are able to:

  • Open and close the family room and make it ready to welcome families.
  • Meet and greet families and facilitate them checking in.
  • Undertake general light housekeeping duties which may include laundry, general tidy of the kitchen and bathroom.
  • Provide beverage or snack for families
  • Other tasks as required.

If you are able to assist with these tasks, we would love to hear from you!
