POSITION DESCRIPTION Grants/Sponsorship Manager

Non-Committee Role • Non-committee level position, plays a vital role in having a job without the extra commitment.

Objectives
• Prospect and apply for small and large grants (capital works) • Maximise the number of sponsors supporting the club and maximise revenue from the sponsorship base • Manage the relationship between the club and sponsors to ensure that all sponsors are serviced to a high level and are retained on a long-term basis • Provide support to the Board of Management and committees to ensure the efficient management of club sponsorship activities • Report to executive of revenue streams and the Board of Management

Responsibilities: Grants • Build a strong relationship with the local council • Prospect and apply for grants from government, public and private companies, public and private philanthropic trusts and foundations • Monitor the success of the grant application • Record successful grants for the year • Provide a report on grants to the executive committee, as required • Look after local council members when at the club • Build a relationship with grant specialists to assist with grant prospecting and application

Responsibilities: Sponsorship • Develop a proposal, for ratification by the Board of Management, for sponsorship packages to be offered by the club to attract as broad a sponsorship base as possible • Organise a team to assist with sponsorship (sub-committee)
• Coordinate all sponsorships for the club • Formulate an annual sponsorship budget and set targets as part of the annual financial planning process • Organise and implement a sponsors’ business directory • Ensure all existing sponsors are contacted 3-5 months prior to the season commencement
• Seek out new sponsors to supplement existing sponsors • Ensure sponsors signage is in place and all other aspects of sponsorship packages are in place prior to the start of the season
• Arrange a Thank You event for sponsors at an appropriate time • Ensure all sponsorship agreements are honoured
• Maintain contact with all corporate sponsors throughout the season
• Maintain strong relationships with all club sponsors • Liaise with the social media coordinator to ensure that advertisement requirements are met • Assist other committee members in their duties, as required
• Undertake tasks at the request of the Board of Management

Relationships
• Report to and liaise with the executive of revenue streams and Board of Management • Build a strong relationship with local council and councilors • Liaise with third party grant specialists and sponsors

Accountability
• The grants/sponsorship coordinator is accountable to the executive of revenue streams and Board of Management • Provide a report on the portfolio to the Board of Management, as requested.
• The sponsorship coordinator shall seek ratification from the Board of Management of sponsorship packages offered by the club and shall thereafter have the authority to act within the limits of the packages without reference to the Board of Management
• Seek ratification from the Finance Officer prior to committing the club to any financial expenditure or action. Commitment
• 30 hours a fortnight
