About the Position

We are looking for a compassionate and motivated HR & Recruitment Assistant Volunteer to support our People and Culture team in Fortitude Valley. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone passionate about Human Resources to gain hands-on experience while making a positive impact on our recruitment process. This role is perfect for those studying HR, as it offers valuable exposure to core HR operations and a chance to work with a professional, dynamic team dedicated to providing services to a diverse group of clients. You will play an important part in the recruitment journey and gain insight into the day-to-day workings of HR in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the HR team with various tasks and activities
  • Engaging with both our services and applicants in a supportive and friendly manner
  • Maintaining accurate records and contributing to reporting processes

What We’re Looking For:

Your positive, caring, and approachable nature will complement the following skills and qualities:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and a basic understanding of databases
  • A friendly and professional telephone and email manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while also being a great team player
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take direction and contribute
  • A reliable, flexible attitude and a strong desire to work respectfully, courteously, and with care

What We Need From You:

  • Participation in orientation and safe work practices training
  • Availability of at least 4 hours a week
  • Consistency and Reliability – able to commit to a minimum of 6 months
  • Confidentiality – maintaining the highest level of confidentiality is crucial, and you will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement
  • Two (2) referees – who can vouch for your character and community involvement (e.g., work colleagues, community leaders, professionals)
  • National Police Clearance – we will assist with this if you don’t already have one
