Mailroom Assistants are key in the smooth processing of orders and providing timely delivery of resources to our frontline expression. The role covers responsibilities from packaging orders, processing payments, record keeping and email engagement with those who placed orders. This role is ideal for someone who loves order, systems and quality improvement, as well as supporting a team to achieve great outcomes for the mission of The Salvation Army. Mailroom Assistants are highly valued team members as they are the ‘engine room’ of our resource delivery systems.

Key responsibilities

Bring your dynamic organisational skills to fill & pack & track orders. Apply your well-honed IT skills to using online systems for information entry and retrieval. Your friendly demeanour will make establishing good working relationships with THQ staff including THQ Redfern Reception as you deliver sealed packages for delivery. Bring your attention to detail, professionalism and integrity to ensure that compliance and confidentiality is adhered to at all times.

Qualifications and skills (desired/required)

Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel and Google sheets required Confident with online systems and software, as well as using printers (specific on the job training will be provided) Strong verbal and written communication skills

Additionally, there will be access to a range of training opportunities and insight to the work of a large not-for-profit religious organisation with expressions in many different areas of society.
