Conservation Assistant Volunteer, Bedervale Homestead, Braidwood - #222760

The main responsibilities of the role are:
*Cleaning designated objects using proper conservation cleaning techniques
*Monitoring and recording object condition, and moving objects as necessary
*Supporting the ongoing development and documentation of the Bedervale Homestead collection
*Supporting the interpretation of the collection
Volunteer should have a passion for hertiage and attention to detail.
Training Induction and familiarisation visit with the site and staff. Full training in basic conservation cleaning techniques. On-the-job training in conservation cleaning, object handling and basic collection management. Ongoing support from staff and fellow volunteers. The National Trust (NSW) runs regular object and building conservation courses available to our Collections Volunteers. Please note that training is property-specific, and volunteers will not receive any formal qualifications as a result of training for this role.
