Social Media Volunteer - Nature Education Centre

Key Responsibilities
Content Creation: Develop engaging posts, stories, and updates about our work with native animals, educational facts, and conservation tips.
Social Media Management: Schedule and manage posts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to maintain an active and cohesive online presence.
Community Engagement: Respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and compassionate manner to foster a supportive online community.
Campaign Support: Assist in creating and promoting campaigns for events, fundraisers, or special projects.
Photography & Videography: If possible, capture or source high-quality photos and videos of our animals and other resources to enhance our content.
Analytics Monitoring: Track engagement and growth metrics, and provide feedback on content performance to guide future strategy.
Ideal Candidate
Passionate about Wildlife: You care deeply about native Australian animals and are committed to conservation.
Social Media Savvy: Experience managing social media accounts, either personally or professionally, with a strong understanding of platform-specific trends and best practices.
Creative & Proactive: Able to think of fresh content ideas and proactively contribute to campaigns and posts.
Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills and the ability to convey information in an engaging and compassionate tone.
Self-Motivated: Comfortable working independently and managing time effectively.
Experience with Graphic Design (Preferred): Basic design skills or experience using to tools like Canva, Photoshop, or similar programs to create visually appealing posts.

Requirements:
Smartphone: A modern smartphone with a good-quality camera for capturing photos and videos, if on-site content creation is part of the role.
Computer or Laptop: A reliable computer or laptop for accessing social media platforms, creating and editing content, and managing scheduling tools.
Internet Access: Consistent and high-speed internet connection for uploading media, scheduling posts, and engaging with the community online.
Social Media Management Tools: Experience with or access to tools like Hootsuite, Buffer, or Meta Business Suite would be ideal. If the organisation provides a subscription, the volunteer should be comfortable using these tools.
Basic Design Software: Access to free or paid design tools like Canva, Adobe Spark, or Photoshop (depending on the volunteer’s experience) to create graphics and enhance photos.
Photography or Videography Equipment (Optional): access to a digital camera or basic video equipment (such as a tripod or lighting, if needed) could be beneficial. However, this isn't required
Time Management: Ability to commit to 2-3 hours per week, manage time effectively, and work independently.
