Visitor for Lifestyle Enrichment (Dementia) - MS PLUS ACVVS
Would you like to make a difference in someone else's life, and your own? To enhance general well-being for a person living with Dementia in aged care?
We are looking for two volunteers to visit two lovely ladies in a Macquarie park aged care who both would benefit from a new friend for some company. One enjoys coloring in or going for a walk around the aged care home. The second enjoys Gardening, sewing, drawing and skin care.
This role is a great opportunity for people who have an understanding of Dementia or are willing to learn, training is provided. This role is flexible and suitable for people who have busy lives (1 hour, 2 times a month aon a day that suits)
Volunteer visitors are empathetic and curious, they find ways to connect and show a genuine appreciation for the happiness of others. They play a vital role in the life of a person living in their own home or aged care through ongoing friendship. This role offers flexibility and reward for both the volunteer and recipient of visits.
MS Plus is funded to provide the Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS).
Before commencement, Visitors must complete our ACVVS onboarding requirements. They are
• Interview with your local program coordinator
• Police Check (free)
• Two referee checks
• Completion of two online training modules
• Commitment to minimum fortnightly visits for 12-months, although we prefer weekly if possible
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills are required, including a strong commitment to others through this voluntary role.
