Event Lead

UN Association of Australia - Young Professionals (Victoria)

Are you a proactive and driven event strategist, eager to transform a vision into real outcomes? Are you eager to harness your skills to create events that unite a community passionate about the UN's mission?

As the Event Lead, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering exceptional events that align with the themes and Sustainable Development Goals championed by the UN and connect our passionate community. We're seeking someone who is enthusiastic about contributing their experience to a meaningful cause, and who can take the initiative to bring ideas to life.

This role involves managing the Events Coordinator and working closely with other Leads and the Co-Presidents to deliver on our mission.

Accountabilities

  • Aligned Event Creation: Lead the development and delivery of a calendar of events that deeply resonate with our community and align with UN themes.
  • Proactive Execution: Be a self-starter who transforms ideas into transformative experiences. Show dedication by delivering events that connect and engage our community.
  • Team Management: Manage and inspire the Events Coordinator to ensure the successful execution of events.
  • Collaborative Leadership: Work closely with other Leads and Co-Presidents to align event strategies with our overall mission and goals.

Selection criteria

  • Proactive Leadership: A self-motivated and dedicated individual who takes initiative, excels in event and project management, and has the ability to lead and inspire teams.
  • Effective Organizer: Possesses excellent interpersonal, communication, budgeting, and organisational skills, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Passionate Advocate: A strong advocate with a deep passion for UN themes and Sustainable Development Goals, capable of translating that enthusiasm into real events.
  • Experienced Team Leader: Exhibits proven leadership abilities and the capacity to inspire and guide a team.
