Board Member - Chair
DonateDirect LtdKey duties of the Board Chairperson:
- Moderating board meetings to ensure that they are constructive, efficient and respectful
- Ensuring appropriate voting processes are in line with organisation’s governance model
- Creating a purposeful agenda in collaboration with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
- Helping to devise and implement a board succession plan
- Managing any other matters as agreed by the Board
Key duties of all Board members:
- Involvement in strategy discussions to help improve the organisation and ensure it is working towards achieving its mission
- Promoting the development of a positive board culture
- Assisting in future planning and furthering the goals of the organisation
- Assisting in fundraising strategy and helping promote the organisation externally
Skills and experience:
- Prior board and governance experience in the not-for-profit sector (specific chairperson experience is advantageous)
- Strong understanding of risk management
- Suitable judgement to act within authorisations and delegations
- Strong decision-making and leadership abilities
- Effective communication skills - both verbal and written
