Social isolation and loneliness are important issues for people living with a mental health issue, if not addressed these can have significant impacts on recovery and wellbeing.

The Life in Community (LinC) volunteer program operates across various locations in Melbourne. The program provides one on one volunteer support to people who experience mental health issues in their recovery journey.

Volunteers assist LinC program participants for up to three months to engage with their local community in a range of activities, such as catching public transport, exploring different interests or hobbies, joining social interest groups, and building confidence in getting to know their local area, such as the gym, neighbourhood house, library, parks, art galleries and walking paths.
