Playgroup Volunteer | IASAQ Parent Group

The Irish Australian Support Association of QLDs Parents Group runs, fortnightly on Friday mornings.

The role of the volunteer is varied and involves carrying out key tasks such as:

  • Setting up the area for the mother’s group prior to starting.
  • Welcoming and ensuring parents sign in and complete relevant paperwork.
  • Making tea and coffee, set up and serving food, kitchen duties.
  • Informing parents of the services available to them at IASAQ.
  • Promoting IASAQ mother’s group and other events.
  • Communicating and connecting with the parents who attend.
  • Assisting with the children and ensuring their safety.
  • Cleaning the area for the group.
  • Tidying and putting away the area after the group is over.

Skills required:

  • Strong communication skills
  • Friendly, empathetic nature
  • Compassionate
  • Willingness to be involved
  • Ability to work within a team.
  • A commitment to the full 3 hour shift from 9am to 12pm
