Overview

This is a senior leadership role at Out for Australia, helping to support and coach established Director-level roles across the country. Our Directors are part of our National Executive and have autonomy over their respective areas. Your role will be to identify new areas of opportunity, pursue ideas, and support state teams to implement activities on the ground through National portfolios. You will also contribute to broader organisational strategy.

Responsibilities

Support and Oversight of Relevant Directors (50%)

  • Organise and lead:
  • monthly virtual calls (with all Directors together); and
  • 1:on:1 virtual catch-ups with each Director (individually), at least 1hr quarterly.
  • At least quarterly portfolio meetings with each area and their volunteer groups.
  • Coaching and working with Directors, to ensure: teams are functioning smoothly and any concerns are diagnosed and resolved;
  • there is level consistency across the different geographies in approach and delivery of activities and tertiary student outreach, including good documentation;
  • State Directors and their teams feel connected to the broader organisation through their engagement with the Community, Outreach and Regional portfolios; and strong recruitment and onboarding support for new Directors.
  • Supporting a strong link between Head of Mentoring (HoM), Chief

Financial Officer (CFO) and Chief Community Officer (CCO) (20%)

  • Ensuring collaboration between National portfolios and grassroots activities.
  • Providing a conduit for information at Grassroots Team meetings.
  • Identifying grant opportunities and/or other areas of opportunity or improvement between these portfolios.

Strategic and organisational responsibilities (20%)

  • Participate in National Executive meetings (every six weeks).
  • Monthly Grassroots Team meetings.
  • Participate in Senior Executive meetings, with the rest of the C-Suite (fortnightly).
  • Fortnightly communication with the Deputy CEO, with 1:on:1s in the alternate week to the C-Suite meetings.
  • Contribute to high-level strategic and organisation planning.

General volunteer expectations (10%)

  • Undertake an OFA volunteer induction and role onboarding.
  • Understand and implement OFA’s strategy, vision and mission.
  • Uphold our volunteer code of conduct.
  • Assist with initiatives as required.
