2023 Australia Schools Boxing Championships Volunteer

As a National Technical Official, Sports, or Event Crew member, you will collaborate closely to ensure the seamless operation of the 2023 Australian Schools Championship at the Dom Polski during July 5th to 8th 2023. Each role has distinct responsibilities, and effective coordination among the team is essential for a successful event.

By efficiently carrying out your respective roles and you will contribute to the smooth and successful execution of the 2023 Australian Schools Championships.

National Technical Official:

  • Your role will be overseen by a coordinator appointed by the Technical Delegate.
  • You will be responsible for managing event timings, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the proper functioning of equipment.
  • Coordinating with other officials, you will play a pivotal role in announcing fights and maintaining smooth event flow.

Sport Crew:

  • Your primary duties involve escorting athletes to the competition area, collecting and presenting awards, and delivering decisions made by judges to the referee.
  • You will work closely with the National Technical Official to synchronize the presentation of awards with the overall event schedule.

Event Crew:

  • As part of the Event Crew, you will be responsible for coordinating the Front of House (FOH) activities.
  • Your tasks will include welcoming spectators, volunteers, and managing ticket distribution.
  • Collaborating with the other teams, you will ensure a warm and organised atmosphere for all attendees.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  1. Creates safe environment for competitors, and spectators.
  2. Ensures FOH, BOH and FOP work smoothly, and efficiently.
  3. Manages time, and space well.
  4. Deals with issues, complaints, or difficulties of states, or members.
  5. Timekeeping
  6. Ringside announcer
  7. Collecting athletes, dealing with athlete queries, and collecting equipment.
  8. Collecting and presenting medals.
  9. First point of contact, welcoming spectators, athletes, and coaches.
  10. Ticket distribution and collection.
  11. Helping to run the merchandise stand.

Experience Knowledge and Skills:

To ensure the selection of individuals with suitable experience and expertise for various roles such as National Technical Official, Sports, or Event Crew, please provide details of your relevant experience at previous events. By sharing your past experiences in these areas, you will assist us in evaluating your qualifications and matching you with the most appropriate role for the smooth execution of the 2023 Australian Schools Championships.

Qualifications:

  • We are aiming for current University or TAFE Students to apply but other applications are welcome
  • A current working with children qualification is required.
  • Public Liability Insurance is provided for all Volunteers.
