Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter (HKWS) is a community-based shelter that provides accommodation and services to women and children in need. As part of the Women’s Community Shelter (WCS) network, we are dedicated to supporting and empowering women in crisis.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join us as an IT Support Operator on a voluntary basis. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems and providing technical assistance to our shelter and staff, both on-site and remotely.

Responsibilities:

· Provide professional and effective IT support to shelter staff and other volunteers. · Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies, under the guidance of the IT Committee. · Track, troubleshoot, and resolve all end-user computer issues. · Develop strong relationships with staff to better understand and support their technical needs. · Independently address complex technical issues in person or via telephone. · Install and maintain desktop hardware and software (both PC and Apple) to ensure data protection and security standards. · Investigate, analyse, and resolve escalations from the General Manager and shelter staff.

Who are we looking for?

Requirements:

· Minimum of 3 years of experience in installing, troubleshooting, and supporting IT equipment. · Proficiency in building, deploying, and troubleshooting desktop computers. · Experience in account administration, from creation to removal. · Familiarity with various operating systems and applications such as Windows 10, Google Suite, and SharePoint. · Ability to provide support for equipment such as printers and laptops. · Proven experience working directly with customers and management at different levels. · Knowledge of Australian cyber security standards implementation. · Strong face-to-face and phone customer support skills. · Effective communication skills to explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. · Ability to collaborate effectively with third-party IT service providers. · Preferably reside locally in the Ku-Ring-Gai district and be available to visit the Shelter during regular business hours, when required. · Availability to attend IT Committee meetings, held remotely once a month and outside of regular business hours. · Expected workload of approximately 3 hours per week.
