Job Description:

Teaching for Impact is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as an IT Manager. As the IT Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our website and managing our newly created App, JMO Companion. This is a volunteer position, providing an excellent opportunity for individuals to gain hands-on experience, expand their skills, and make a difference in education.

Website Management:

  • Ensure the smooth operation, functionality, and performance of the Teaching for Impact website, which is built on WordPress and privately hosted on VentraIP.
  • Regularly update and maintain the website's content, including text, images, videos, and downloadable resources.

  • Collaborate with the content team to ensure the website accurately represents our mission, initiatives, and impact.

  • Implement and customize website features and plugins as needed, ensuring a user-friendly experience.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any technical issues or bugs related to the website promptly.

App Management:

  • Oversee the management and maintenance of the JMO Companion App integrated into the Teaching for Impact website.
  • Collaborate with the development team to implement updates, features, and improvements to the app.

  • Test the app's functionality, usability, and performance to ensure a seamless user experience.

  • Address any user feedback or issues related to the app promptly and effectively.

Technical Support:

  • Provide technical assistance and support to Teaching for Impact volunteers and team members for IT-related queries and issues.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve any IT-related problems promptly and efficiently.

  • Assist in setting up and configuring hardware and software tools needed by the team.

  • Conduct regular backups and ensure data security measures are in place.

Collaboration and Learning:

  • Collaborate with other team members, particularly the Communications and Design teams, to align IT initiatives with organizational goals.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest web development and IT trends, tools, and best practices.

  • Share knowledge, insights, and learnings with the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement and growth.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • No specific prior experience is required; we welcome individuals with all levels of experience who are willing to learn and grow with us.

  • Basic knowledge of website management, preferably with experience using WordPress or similar content management systems.

  • Familiarity with web development languages such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is a plus, but not mandatory.

  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve technical issues.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks with minimal supervision.

  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and provide technical support.
