The hairdresser escort volunteer will liaise with the onsite hairdresser to provide assistance in escorting residents to and from the onsite salon for the scheduled hair appointments and provide social support to residents whilst they are waiting.

Duties include:

• Assist in the escorting of residents to and from their hairdresser appointments

• Provide encouragement at times to attend their appointment

• Establish rapport with the resident through actively listening to them talk and engage in conversation based on residents individual interests

• Provide emotional support and reassurance to residents as required

• Maintain a high level of confidentiality in relation to the residents at all times
