Position description: Volunteers in our Social Support program visit older people who are experiencing a lack of social connections. Activities may include:
- Visiting someone in their home
- Meeting up for a coffee
- Sharing a skill or an interest
- Chat with someone over the phone
Location: Roles available across Melbourne Metro region
Skills required:
- Communication and conversation skills
- An ability to build trust and rapport
Time required: 1-2 hours a week
Commitment required: Ongoing
Other comments: The role can be made suitable to people who recently migrated to Australia and people with disabilities.
