Key areas of responsibility of the Marketing & Communications Manager

Develop and implement marketing strategies that actively promote the Mustangs brand in line with the club’s strategic and commercial plans

Collaborate in the development and implementation of new initiatives to enhance the profile and reputation of the Mustangs nationally and internationally
Overview of tasks
Marketing Strategy
- Implement and deliver The Mustangs Media and Communications Plan that complements the Mustangs overall strategic direction, brand, culture and values
- Implement and deliver the Mustangs media and communication requirements with regard to its major sponsors, stakeholders, competitions, participants, events, and all teams
- Develop and manage program to activate media and communication opportunities for their key major sponsors, stakeholders, including the players and coaches
Management
- End-to-end management of various communication channels including newsletters, website, social media, various publications, emails and other relevant media teams
- Plan, implement and manage the communication around all Mustangs activities, game day, training and other events as they arise
- Plan, implement and manage a wide range of media and communications opportunities which help to deliver The Mustangs Media and Communications Plan
- Responsible for end-to-end management of all marketing related platforms
- Lead and grow an enthusiastic marketing social media team
Events & Promotions
- Prepare and implement the communications strategy that leverages the Mustangs events to maximise the publicity and awareness of the event and the Mustangs
- Develop a player media utilisation strategy to ensure players are factored into media opportunities
Reporting
- Undertake all data analysis and reporting functions and on a monthly basis to keep the CEO & Committee informed of progress to approved strategy and budgets, including monthly statistics of advertising and marketing campaigns
- Review monthly marketing budget reports and forecasts against social media release schedule
Core Competencies
- Qualified and experienced marketing professional with a sports and/or brand marketing background
- Demonstrated competency in modern, results-driven marketing communication skills
- Experience in a leadership role
- Strategic, influential with a collaborative mindset
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail)
- Advanced knowledge of digital and social platforms
